During my 10-week internship at Adobe Express, I explored how Generative Webpages could work as a mobile-first creation experience. The focus was on moving beyond a desktop workflow adapted to a smaller screen and rethinking the full journey around mobile behaviours, AI-assisted creation, and progressive editing.

The challenge & direction

01. The challenge
01. The challenge
Generative Webpages transforms simple prompts into responsive webpages using AI. The existing experience was largely designed around desktop interactions, while many creators use their phones to capture ideas, create content, and share it. The opportunity was to make rich webpage creation feel intuitive on mobile without sacrificing creative flexibility.

02. Research & insights with the support of ADRS Team
Research, competitive benchmarking, and conversations with designers and mentors helped clarify where a mobile-first experience could add value:
Research, competitive benchmarking, and conversations with designers and mentors helped clarify where a mobile-first experience could add value:
• Mobile is a creation device for many, not just a place to view content.
• AI should accelerate creation while leaving room for personalisation and control.
• Editing on a small screen benefits from progressive disclosure and contextual controls.
• Webpages can support motion, storytelling, and sharing beyond static content.

03. Exploring the interaction
03. Exploring the interaction
I explored prompt-first, intent-based, and template-assisted entry points, followed by AI-assisted content refinement. Editing concepts focused on progressive workflows, contextual menus, and mobile-specific interactions. Visual personalisation and motion gave creators ways to shape the generated page around their own ideas.

04. Prototyping & collaboration
I translated the directions into end-to-end flows, high-fidelity screens, and a fully functional interactive prototype using Claude code & Protopack. Regular reviews with my mentor and design stakeholders helped refine the concepts. I presented the work to Adobe India Design and Engineering teams post which I shared the codebase to further explore the implementation.
I translated the directions into end-to-end flows, high-fidelity screens, and an interactive Claude prototype using Adobe Spectrum 2. Regular reviews with my mentor and design stakeholders helped refine the concepts. I presented the work to Adobe India Design and later to the for handing off the Prototype repo to the Engineering teams to start implementation for v0.

What I learned
What I learned
The internship gave me valuable exposure to the complete product design process within a large, cross-functional team. From understanding the problem space and exploring ideas to iterating based on feedback and presenting the final solution, I learned how product decisions evolve through collaboration. I also had the opportunity to present my work to the Adobe India Design team and members of the Engineering team, where the project received encouraging feedback and opened up valuable discussions around its future direction. Overall, the experience strengthened my product thinking, communication skills, and ability to balance user needs with business and technical considerations.

Still curious? Let's talk.
Drop me a line, tell me what you’re up to, or just say hi. If you’re building something interesting, I’d love to hear about it.
